What is “Number of qualified participants?" on the project form?

Qualified participants are those in our database who match your specified characteristics. You can apply filters such as company type, business location, Shopify plan, monthly revenue range, average number of orders, number of products for sale, average order value, and team size.
Make sure your participant pool is over 100 to ensure a nice variety of applicants!
To fine-tune your selection, consider using screener questions to identify the best candidates. You can also chat with participants before bringing them into your project. It's a good idea to have a larger pool of candidates, so try to avoid strict filters that might limit your options unnecessarily.
We suggest keeping your filters broad unless there's a clear reason to narrow them down.
For example, if you're working on an app specifically for beauty stores, it makes sense to focus on sellers of beauty brands. But if your product is aimed at a broader market of stores, regardless of what they sell, applying a beauty filter will really cut down your pool of qualified participants. In that case, you might want to leave the Shop category filter unselected.
Remember, with the pay-as-you-go plan, you'll get double the number of applicants per slot. With the subscription plan, you’ll enjoy six times the applications per slot. So, make sure to give yourself a wide selection of participants to choose from!
Also, you can have as many calls as you like in your project. For example, if you have 5 slots, you can still conduct more than 5 interviews by selecting more participants from the applications. That's why we recommend having a larger potential participants pool. If you receive more great matches than expected, you can conduct more interviews within the same project.
