Welcome to our October Referral Contest!
This document explains all the important details to make sure your referrals count and you don’t miss out on rewards.
1. Where to Find and Share Your Referral Link
Your referral link is available on your Refer & Earn page after you log in to AppStoreResearch.com.
Simply copy your personal link and share it directly.
Important: Only participants who sign up through your referral link will count.
If someone signs up manually without your link, we can’t track it and can’t add it later — the system records referrals automatically, and we have no way to adjust it.
Examples of where to share your referral link:
Post in your private Shopify founder or operator group (Slack, WhatsApp, Discord, Facebook, etc)
Send to your peers or friends who manage other Shopify stores
Add it under your LinkedIn post or DM Shopify brand owners directly
2. No Referrals from Your Own Company
To keep things fair for researchers and other participants:
You cannot refer people from your own company or brand.
Researchers can’t interview multiple people from the same business.
Only referrals from different Shopify stores will be counted.
3. Real Store Owners Only — Verification Required
We verify each new participant to make sure they truly work at a Shopify brand.
To ensure your referrals count:
Ask them to use their work email (e.g., name@brand.com) when signing up.
Encourage them to add their LinkedIn profile during registration.
We may freeze or delete accounts if there’s no clear evidence the person has a real role at a Shopify business.
4. Store Quality Requirements
To qualify:
The referred brand’s website must look like an active, functional Shopify store.
If a site looks unfinished, inconsistent, or inactive, it may be declined.
We only count verified, legitimate Shopify businesses.
5. Shopify Stores Only
We only approve and reward referrals for Shopify-based websites.
If a business isn’t on Shopify, that referral won’t count toward your total.
6. How to Track Your Referrals
You can monitor everything directly on your Refer & Earn page:
Each time someone signs up via your link, you’ll see them listed under the “Referred Participants” tab.
The ACCOUNT CREATED column shows when they joined.
The EARNED COMMISSION column shows how much you’ve earned for their participation.
💡 Tip: If the “Earned Commission” column shows $0, it means your referral hasn’t done their first interview yet. Every approved participant who completes their first interview counts toward your total.
7. What Counts for the Contest
For the October Referral Contest, we count referrals who:
Signed up through your referral link,
Were approved,
Completed their first interview, and
Triggered your referral payment ($50 or $100).
That’s why it’s important not just to refer people —
but to encourage them to apply to projects right away so they can get selected and interviewed within October.
8. Contest Timeline
Contest runs: October 14 – October 31, 2025
Winners announced: Monday, November 3, 2025
Winners are chosen based on total valid referrals with completed interviews.
9. Prizes
These prizes are on top of your regular referral payments:
🥇 1st Place – $1000 bonus
🥈 2nd Place – $500 bonus
🥉 3rd Place – $300 bonus
Your regular referral rewards ($50 or $100 per verified participant) are paid as usual.
10. Important Reminders
The system tracks referrals automatically — we can’t add missed referrals manually.
You must refer real Shopify store owners or operators from different brands.
Make sure your referrals use their work email and provide LinkedIn for verification.
Non-Shopify or low-quality websites won’t qualify.
Winners will be announced by email on November 3.
Thank you for helping us connect more Shopify brands with top researchers!
Let’s make this month’s contest exciting, fair, and transparent.
